I’m no stranger to feeling lost.

In fact, I take solace in the ability to be lost — to wander freely. Living life and making mistakes are part of exploring the grand endlessness of the world. It can be overwhelming, but more pressingly, it can be melancholic. Life is finite, and it’s riddled with questions of “who am I?” and “what is missing?”

I’m no stranger to these feelings. I felt them crushingly when I escaped to Pakistan over the summer. So I express them here through sound and visuals. Obsessed with finding containers for these feelings, I compartmentalize them in old technology. Cassettes tapes, CRT TVs, MPCs — all items that should have been lost to time but instead have found themselves fulfilling a comforting niche. This analog technology cajoles yearning in us by providing a grossly nostalgic lens to view the world. It is tied to a certain time period by design, encapsulating memories of youth and wonder — some of which may have never existed at all.

This is why it’s critical to take solace in being lost. We, as this contemporary generation, are nothing if not nascent — only just beginning to assume our identities and figure out who we are.

There’s a whole lot of world to see, so I made you a mixtape for when you get out there.
